Sam had found several attempts at keeping notes in the Town Meetings for the past year, which eventually disvolved into a narrative with time markers as "talked about it for a few minutes," and "Joji just would not shut up!" He had found plans for expanding the town. He found a delious looking cookie recipe. He found a little kid's doodles. He found a list of weddings, births and deaths. He found someone's research on the mythical tunnels under the captial's city and his plans on blowing up offical buildings.
"A lot less than you did," Sam admitted, without frustration. It happened a lot in town records, or any collection of written material. What they needed was in one precise spot and it was a toss up on who'd locate it first. While Sam's search had been fruitless, he did enjoy the walk, as it were.
Taking the papers from Dean, Sam meant to glance over them to familiarize himself with the details. But after two years of not reading had a profound effect on him and before he could realize it, he slowed down his reading to suck in every word.
